The CG is large, clean and beautiful. But the trains running by the CG are loud and they vibrate ground. The pool is large and very clean. The CG has everything necessary to keep the children occupied. The campsites are large, Wi-Fi was excellent and satellite reception was great. We would love this CG if not for the trains.
The previous reviewers are correct: this campground is very worn. The roads are paved, but small. The campsites are very small and unlevel. My 37 ft motorhome barely fit into the campsite. Our towdolly and car had to be parked in the next site. Dish satillite could not be received, due to the trees. Several planes flew overhead during the day, but not at night. The tennis courts had grass growing through the cracked blacktop. The indoor pool was clean and a good size. The office person was very friendly and helpful. Ottawa is a beautiful city and well worth the expense. We camped three nights and enjoyed Ottawa.
The campground is located across the street from the beautiful Trent River. The owners are new to the campground and appeared to have a limited knowledge of camping. They offered clean bathrooms, clean laundry room and a camp store. Wi-Fi was available for a fee. The FHU 30 amp electric campsites are small, grassy, unlevel and unattractive. The 15 amp w/water sites offered a beautiful view of the Trent River. A $10.00 fee was charged to dump, for those camping in the non FHU sites. The roads are paved but small, curved and uphill. The campground is located on the side of a mountain and are not friendly to navigate. We don't plan to return.
The Wildwood Conservation Area is a large campground and day park, located on a very large beautiful lake. Boating, fishing and hiking are wonderful. Children's programs and safe playgrounds are offered. The staff are friendly and helpful. The roads are somewhat paved and in terrible shape. The campsites are large, grassy and shaded. Dish TV satellite was receivable. The bathrooms and laundry facilities were limited and sub par. Sewage pump out was offered weekly for $20.00. Daily camping fee was pricey, $36.00, but if you camp monthly the fee drops to $22.00. The surrounding towns, St. Marys and Stratford, are beautiful to visit. We camped here for two months and plan to return next year.
The campground and recreation room/office were very neat and clean. Our site was #28, a pull thru. The wifi was excellant, all hook-ups looked new, the site was level and we received a good satillite signal.
Entrance to the campground is via a single lane paved road. The price reflects Good Sam discount. We camped in a pull thru site. It was long enough to handle the Motorhome and tow, but very narrow. There was no view to speak of. The pool was small and the water was clear, but contained many dead bugs. We camped here for one night.
